Dave Stanley’s management and sustainability expertise has been acquired in over 40 years hands on involvement in a diverse range of projects that have included;-

Sustainability Projects – Risk assessments – include leading UK food retailer & property development company ,  Strategy development for Isle of Man Government, WWF, Country Landowners Association, Wildlife Trust.  2001 – Produced a report on achieving UK’s Kyoto Climate Change targets through food management alone. Presentations at national conferences.

Environmental Management.  Head of Environmental Management with the Environment Agency, developed and facilitated its environmental strategy.  Participated in various national working groups and expert panels including BS/ISO14000, BSRIA, and DETR.  Advised various organisations on environmental  management system (EMS) implementation.

Procurement. Lecturer at the National School of Government. Promotes importance of whole life costing.  Departmental training on procurement.  Department for Transport – workshops for senior management of all Agencies on specifying for performances (planes to mailing systems).

Transport & Systems Managed, driven or ridden in just about every form of transport from Harriers, trucks, boats  to parachutes (no – not piled one in – but attached to Paras!).  Fleet driver efficiency training project.

Buildings & Estate Project managed office builds and refurbs.  Facilities management – 27 buildings for NRA. Lectures Reading University on topic.  Built 2 houses.

Saving Energy & Energy Efficiency Energy audits of estates, buildings, castles, engineering systems.  Gliding record for Hunter (fighter) – having got the energy management  wrong.  Lectures at Centre for Alternative Technology – energy/agriculture.

Food & Farming Review of Government food procurement system and draft ministerial report. First food chain risk assessment M&S. On leaving Environment Agency – with 9 acres bought 2 in calf cows and set up a “zero input” system (well almost!) – expanded to 80 acres and 40 head of Lincoln Red – selling grass fed only beef direct to public via box scheme – profitably.

Training Designed and delivered training and awareness packages at all organisational levels.  Lectures on sustainable development and environmental management at the National School of Government.

Auditing and Appraisals Registered Environmental Auditor with IEMA,  carried out audits of  supply chains, buildings and operational functions, and produced supporting audit guides and procedures.
